Football Recap: JW North Comes Up Short

JW North came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against the Rancho Verde Mustangs, falling 49-21. The Huskies haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

JW North lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was DeNavyah Garcia, who rushed for 80 yards and one TD.

Rancho Verde's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from C. J. Thompson, who threw for 138 yards and three touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes. Gareon Galloway helped Thompson out on the ground, rushing for 68 yards and one score.

JW North's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Rancho Verde, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. JW North is set to square off against their familiar foe Paloma Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Rancho Verde will face off against rival Vista del Lago at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
