After a string of four wins, Metamora's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 2-0 to the Morton Potters. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Potters this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-10.

Metamora's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Morton, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season.

Metamora and Morton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Redbirds will take on Canton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (47 vs. 559). Meanwhile, Morton (ranked 18th) will meet Pekin (ranked 289th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
