Baseball Recap: Goodland Comes Up Short

Goodland fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Cimarron on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They lost 11-5 to the Bluejays. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cowboys of the 10-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Reid Cure was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

Goodland has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Cimarron, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bluejays beat Goodland by a score of 20-3 later that day.
