Volleyball Recap: Crestview Snags Eighth Victory in Last Ten Games

Crestview hadn't done well against Western Reserve recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Cougars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Roughriders, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since August 28th.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Crestview who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 16-25, 26-24, 23-25, 15-13.

Crestview found their leader in sophomore Emma Horner, who had 14 digs.

Crestview is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Western Reserve, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Crestview will square off against rival South Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Western Reserve is set to face off against their familiar foe St. Paul at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
