Basketball Recap: Donaldsonville Takes a Loss

Donaldsonville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 50-12 loss at the hands of the Berwick Panthers. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Berwick found their leader in sophomore Azyria Garrison, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Garrison has scored at least a third of Berwick's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Bosman, who went 5 of 10 en route to 11 points and three steals.

Donaldsonville's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Berwick, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

Coming up, Donaldsonville will head out to challenge Istrouma at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Berwick, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 36-26 defeat against St. James on the 8th.
