Russell entered their tilt with Boyd County on Monday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 on September 9th.

Russell walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-23, 25-14, 26-24.

Russell's win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Boyd County, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Russell will square off against East Carter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Boyd County, they will challenge Parkersburg South at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
