Soccer Game Preview: South Lenoir vs. East Duplin

South Lenoir hasn't had much luck against East Duplin recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Blue Devils will venture away from home to challenge the Panthers at 6:00 p.m.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for South Lenoir's offense. They fell just short of Wallace-Rose Hill by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. South Lenoir fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Wallace-Rose Hill since on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, North Duplin kept up with East Duplin until halftime on Monday, but afterwards: not so much. The Panthers' defense stepped up to hand the Rebels a 5-0 shutout. East Duplin haven't had any issues with North Duplin recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

East Duplin hit North Duplin with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ana Marie Rodriguez (2), Isla Miller, Joselin Mata-Aguilar, and Anastan Holley.

This is the second loss in a row for South Lenoir and nudges their season record down to 4-7. As for East Duplin, their win bumped their record up to 6-7-2.

South Lenoir suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to East Duplin in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
