Softball Recap: Lake Travis Victorious

Lake Travis had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tuloso-Midway Warriors & Cherokees on Saturday, sneaking past 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cavaliers have posted since April 11, 2025.

Julianna Rodriguez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lake Travis saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Gerlach, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That run marked the first that Gerlach has scored this season.

Lake Travis' win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Tuloso-Midway, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Lake Travis will challenge Leander at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Cavaliers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Tuloso-Midway, they will square off against Jones at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
