If the Clover Blue Eagles were riding high off their 65-41 takedown of the Nation Ford Falcons last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Clover took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Blythewood on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Clover has scored all season.
Clover lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaylon Hoover, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Harley Lail, who scored six points.
Clover's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Blythewood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.
Clover won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Spring Valley at 8:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for Blythewood, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Rock Hill at 8:00 p.m. Rock Hill will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Blythewood is ranked tenth).
