Basketball Game Preview: Brush Arcs vs. Warrensville Heights Tigers

The Brush Arcs will square off against the Warrensville Heights Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Brush will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.

Last Monday, Brush was able to grind out a solid victory over Laurel, taking the game 61-49. Given the Arcs' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Gators are ranked 177th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Warrensville Heights was fully in charge on Wednesday, breezing past Maple Heights 59-10. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 21 points or more this season.

Warrensville Heights had a senior duo take command as Demarionna Branch went 7 of 15 en route to 15 points and six steals and Tamarra Thomas posted 13 points and three steals. De'Aja Smith was another key player, putting up six points.

Warrensville Heights smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Warrensville Heights pushed their record up to 16-3 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.0 points per game. As for Brush, their victory bumped their record up to 16-2.

Everything came up roses for Brush against Warrensville Heights in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 72-41 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Warrensville Heights' Chelsea Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards.
