Baseball Recap: Coleman Takes a Loss

Coleman and Stamford squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Coleman had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 1-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Bluecats were not able to get on the board.

Brayden Torres spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

Coleman's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Stamford, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-5.

While Coleman had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
