Baseball Game Preview: McFarland Cougars vs. Kennedy Thunderbirds

For the second straight game, McFarland will face off against Kennedy. The Cougars will host the Thunderbirds at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. McFarland is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, McFarland came up short against Kennedy and fell 12-7.

For Kennedy's part, they let Nathaniel Elizando and Joshua Gonzales run wild. Elizando went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Gonzales went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave Elizando a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Espn Cantu, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Kennedy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

McFarland's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5-1. As for Kennedy, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-8.
