Softball Recap: Compton Comes Up Short

Compton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They came up short against the Lakewood Lancers, falling 15-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 back in March.

Compton's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Lakewood, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-12.

Coming up, Compton is taking a road trip to face off against Woodrow Wilson at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Bruins have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.87 runs per game on average), something the Tarbabes will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lakewood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Downey at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Lancers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
