Recap: Dulaney Lions vs. Pikesville Panthers
After flying high against the Catonsville Comets last Friday, the Dulaney Lions came back down to earth. Dulaney took a 63-44 bruising from Pikesville on Wednesday. Dulaney has not had much luck with Pikesville recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Pikesville found their leader in underclassman Mariah Jones-Bey, who scored 14 points along with six assists. The match was Jones-Bey's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bree Taylor, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Dulaney's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-2. As for Pikesville, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2.
Dulaney will take on New Town at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. New Town will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Pikesville, they will head out on the road to face off against Chesapeake at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Chesapeake will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while Pikesville is ranked 22nd).
