Basketball Recap: West Greene Falls Despite Big Games from Joie Shipley and Morgan Brown

West Greene lost against Chuckey-Doak back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The West Greene Buffaloes fell to the Chuckey-Doak Black Knights 45-39.

West Greene's loss came despite strong showings from Morgan Brown and Joie Shipley. Brown dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds, while Shipley almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 17 boards. Shipley is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 12 or more in the last three games she's played. Kaylee Gulley also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

West Greene has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Chuckey-Doak, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-10.

West Greene has already played their next match, a 52-44 defeat against North Greene on the 18th. Chuckey-Doak has also already played their next contest (against South Greene), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
