Softball Recap: Owen J. Roberts Comes Up Short

Owen J. Roberts suffered their closest defeat since March 26, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Perkiomen Valley Vikings by a score of 5-3. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Bella Winnick was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Liza Flavin, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

This is the second loss in a row for Owen J. Roberts and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Perkiomen Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Owen J. Roberts is set to square off against their familiar foe Upper Perkiomen at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Perkiomen Valley will face off against rival Methacton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vikings 2.2, the Warriors 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
