Fillmore had lost five straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 5-19 to make it six. They fell just short of the Oak Park Eagles by a score of 12-11. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in February.
Thomas Alamillo stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 3-for-6 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Christian Renteria, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
As for Oak Park, the win snapped their losing streak at 12 games and leaves them with a 6-17 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted against Fillmore since April 1, 2019.
On Oak Park's side, Dylan Hirsh made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Hirsh was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Oak Park got a massive performance out of Tyler Kutsch, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Kutsch has become a key player for the Eagles: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-16 otherwise. Aaron Berro was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fillmore will challenge Malibu at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Oak Park, they will face off against Moorpark at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Musketeers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
