Soccer Game Preview: Liberty vs. Estacado

The Liberty Patriots are taking a road trip to square off against the Estacado Matadors at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Liberty is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 12 games.

Liberty's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Pecos with a sharp 8-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won 13 games by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Estacado came up short against Lake View on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The Matadors haven't had much luck with the Chiefs/Maidens recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Liberty's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-1-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those nine matchups. As for Estacado, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7-3.

Everything went Liberty's way against Estacado when the teams last played back in February, as Liberty made off with an 8-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Liberty since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
