It was a good run, but  Burrell unfortunately witnessed the end of their  eight-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Ligonier Valley Rams by a score of  3-2. Having soared to a lofty ten  runs in the game before, the Bucs couldn't push the score so high this time.
 Stephen Hasson was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  didn't allow a single  earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave  him a new career-low in  earned runs (zero).
 At the plate,  Brayden Mell was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.  Brady Valovchik also deserves some recognition as  he  snagged his first  stolen base of the season.
Burrell's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Ligonier Valley, their win  ended  a  four-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 2-6.
While Burrell had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
