Basketball Recap: Howard Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

Howard entered their tilt with Wessington Springs on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Wessington Springs Spartans by a score of 47-40. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.

Howard's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.9 points per game. As for Wessington Springs, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Howard and Clark/Willow Lake will round out the year against one another at on December 30th. As for Wessington Springs, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Highmore/Harrold at 5:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
