Baseball Game Preview: Chavez Eagles vs. Gardena Panthers

The Chavez Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the Gardena Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Chavez's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Gardena's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Chavez is headed into the game having just posted their closest victory since March 19th on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Grant 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now won four in a row.

Joey Uribe was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Emmanuel Hernandez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Gardena was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 11-0 to Narbonne.

Gardena's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Chavez, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.
