Baseball Game Preview: Northside Christian Mustangs vs. Palm Harbor University Hurricanes

The Northside Christian Mustangs will face off against the Palm Harbor University Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Northside Christian fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against IMG Academy Gray on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (8-4), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Northside Christian got a good showing from Rhett Wilson, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, Wilson gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in February of 2024.

On the hitting side, Gabe Currier was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Cox, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Palm Harbor University fell victim to Calvary Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The game marked the first time this year in which the Hurricanes were not able to get on the board.

Northside Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Palm Harbor University, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
