Basketball Game Preview: River Valley Raiders vs. Nelsonville-York Buckeyes

River Valley hasn't had much luck against Nelsonville-York recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The River Valley Raiders will be home for the holidays to greet the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

River Valley took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 56-34 margin over Vinton County.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Nelsonville-York). They took their match on Monday with ease, bagging a 69-41 victory over Wellston. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Buckeyes had established a 22 point advantage.

Nelsonville-York's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for River Valley, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

River Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Nelsonville-York in their previous meeting back in February, but they still walked away with a 53-48 win. Will River Valley repeat their success, or does Nelsonville-York have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
