Basketball Recap: Gilpin County Finds Playoff Glory Versus Dove Creek

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Gilpin County walked away with it. They walked away with a 41-29 win over the Dove Creek Bulldogs on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Faith Ramsey was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 21 points and ten steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals. Makenzie Marr was another key player, putting up eight points.

When it comes to explaining why Dove Creek lost, don't look at Taylor Barry. Despite the final result, she went 5-for-8 en route to 12 points and three steals. Barry is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Gilpin County's win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Dove Creek, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-6.

Gilpin County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-23 defeat against Sanford on the 8th. Dove Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
