Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rushford-Peterson). They blew past the Fillmore Central/Lanesboro Falcons 12-4 on Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for the Trojans as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Shelby Tesch was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 7.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Tesch was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season.
In other batting news, Lindsey Hoiness was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Happel, who earned two runs and one stolen base.
Rushford-Peterson picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-7. As for Fillmore Central/Lanesboro, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
