Basketball Recap: Gretna Comes Up Short

Gretna played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Skutt Catholic SkyHawks 69-35. The Dragons haven't had much luck with the SkyHawks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the defeat, Gretna saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ava Mcartor posted nine points.

Gretna's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Skutt Catholic, their victory was their 25th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-1.

Gretna does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Skutt Catholic, they and Gretna East will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played. One thing working in Skutt Catholic's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.
