Basketball Recap: Richland Drops Season-High Score on Eagleville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Richland). They really took it to the Eagleville Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-31 victory. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 23 points or more this season.

Richland was led to victory by Shelby Higgins and Bailey Blair. Higgins went 8 of 14 on her way to 19 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals, while Blair went 7 for 11 en route to 17 points and five assists. That's the most steals Higgins has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Kirk, who posted eight points and seven boards.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Richland was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Richland pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Eagleville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.

Richland will challenge Santa Fe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Richland is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season. As for Eagleville, they will face off against Huntland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
