Columbia Central typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Adrian proved too difficult a challenge. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Golden Eagles 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Maples, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Gary Kemerer looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Joelden Griffin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Bruggeman, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Adrian's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Columbia Central, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-3.

Adrian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Golden Eagles: the pair will be back at it again later today.
