Volleyball Recap: Anclote Takes a Loss

Anclote was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gulf Buccaneers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buccaneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 on Thursday.

Anclote started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-20, 15-10.

Anclote's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Gulf, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.

Coming up, Anclote will take on Tarpon Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gulf, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Fivay on the 27th.
