Softball Recap: Eastern Starts Season with Win Against Southern

Eastern gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They skirted past the Southern Tornadoes 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since April 19, 2024.

Kelly Wells was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Braelyn Bevins was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Eastern will have a chance to go back-to-back against Southern: the pair will be back at it again later today.
