Preview: Mineral County Serpents vs. Excel Christian Warriors
Mineral County is 8-1 against Excel Christian since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Mineral County Serpents will be playing in front of their home fans against the Excel Christian Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Mineral County will be looking to keep their ten-game home win streak alive.
Mineral County posted their biggest victory since December 1, 2023 on Saturday. They breezed by Sage Ridge on the road to the tune of 79-45.
DeVayne Isom was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with eight steals and seven assists. He hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Triston Jones, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Excel Christian didn't have too much trouble with enCompass Academy on the road on Monday as they won 53-35. The win was just what Excel Christian needed coming off of a 64-27 loss in their prior match.
Mineral County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Excel Christian, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
Everything went Mineral County's way against Excel Christian when the teams last played last Saturday as Mineral County made off with a 64-41 victory. With Mineral County ahead 41-20 at the half, the match was all but over already.
