Baseball Recap: Perquimans' Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Perquimans walked away with it. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Voyager Academy Vikings on Tuesday, sneaking past 5-4. Winning may never get old, but the Pirates sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Ben Brown was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Perquimans' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Voyager Academy, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 24-3.

Perquimans will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vikings: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
