Volleyball Recap: Belvidere Takes a Loss

Belvidere was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Freeport Pretzels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pretzels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in April.

Belvidere started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-14, 25-15.

Freeport found their leader in freshman Kiptyn Reisenbichler, who had 14 digs and one assist.

Belvidere's loss dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Freeport, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Belvidere is set to square off against their familiar foe Rockford East at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Freeport will face off against rival Rockford Auburn at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
