Baseball Recap: Cornerstone Christian's Losing Streak Snapped at Nine Games

Cornerstone Christian can bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Arthur-Okaw Christian Conquering Riders. This was a revenge game for the Cyclones: when they faced off against the Conquering Riders on April 7th, they had to take a 9-1 defeat.

Josh Kursell made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

Kursell wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Thaddeus Noffsinger, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Noffsinger has posted since back in March. Griffin Moore also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Cornerstone Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Arthur-Okaw Christian, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-6.

Looking ahead, Cornerstone Christian will face off against Mt. Pulaski at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Arthur-Okaw Christian, they will take on Calumet Christian in a tournament on Saturday.
