Baseball Recap: Columbia Has No Trouble Against Emmett

Columbia owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They put the hurt on the Emmett Huskies with a sharp 9-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won nine in a row.

Parker Harrison was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Columbia is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-10 otherwise. Harrison was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Gabe Tanner was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Columbia's record now sits at 6-11. As for Emmett, their defeat was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia will challenge Nampa at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Emmett, they will face off against Skyview at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Huskies surely won't give up without a fight.
