Softball Recap: North Vermillion Takes a Loss

North Vermillion came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 16-6 to the West Vigo Vikings. The defeat continues a trend for the Falcons in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost four in a row.

Ava Jumps was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Baker, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

North Vermillion's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for West Vigo, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 11-0.

Coming up, North Vermillion will take on Fountain Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for West Vigo, they will square off against Shakamak at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
