Basketball Recap: Gehlen Catholic Comes Up Short

Gehlen Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost to the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Hawks on the road by a 65-49 margin. The Jays were probably out for revenge after losing 55-42 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Gehlen Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gehlen Catholic will be home for the holidays to greet George-Little Rock at 6:00 p.m. on December 20th. Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn and Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
