Softball Recap: Saint Ignatius College Prep Drops Highest Score of Season Against Jones

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Saint Ignatius College Prep). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Jones Eagles a 19-0 shutout on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolfpack considering their one-run performance the match before.

The team relied heavily on Zoe Smith, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Anne Crotty, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and four RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Saint Ignatius College Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Saint Ignatius College Prep now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Jones, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 8-1.
