Preview: Lake Buena Vista Vipers vs. Davenport Broncos
The Lake Buena Vista Vipers will head out on the road to face off against the Davenport Broncos at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
The matchup between Lake Buena Vista and Olympia on Thursday hardly resembled the 0-0 effort from their previous meeting. Lake Buena Vista was outmatched by Olympia on the road and fell 75-45. Lake Buena Vista was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-16.
Lake Buena Vista might have lost, but man, Annali Astor was a machine: she scored 31 points. Astor scored a full 68.9% of Lake Buena Vista's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Davenport humbled Osceola with a 49-17 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-6.
Davenport can attribute much of their success to Sorayah Emilien, who scored 18 points. The contest was Emilien's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Destiny Kim, who scored 8 points.
Tohopekaliga's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Lake Buena Vista's loss dropped theirs to 0-1.
Lake Buena Vista took a serious blow against Davenport in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 55-16. Can Lake Buena Vista avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
