Recap: Salinas Cowboys vs. Serra Padres
It was a good run, but the Salinas Cowboys unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They were dealt a 47-7 loss at the hands of Serra. While losing is never fun, Salinas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 141st, while Serra is ranked fifth).
Among those leading the charge was Nano Latu, who rushed for 33 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 36 receiving yards. Jaden Green got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Salinas' defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Serra, they have yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 11-0 record.
Salinas does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Serra will face off against Wilcox at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wilcox is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
