Softball Recap: New Bremen's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

New Bremen had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on the Perry Commodores with a sharp 16-1 win on Wednesday. The Cardinals have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Commodores, too.

Lydia Bushman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Bushman was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Olivia Thornton was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Halle Kuenning was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

New Bremen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .722. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

New Bremen's record now sits at 4-10. As for Perry, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Coming up, New Bremen will square off against Fort Loramie at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Perry, they have already played their next matchup, a 15-0 defeat against Ridgedale on the 8th.
