Recap: United Golden Eagles vs. Columbiana Clippers
After flying high against the Leetonia Bears last Thursday, the United Golden Eagles came back down to earth. United took a 64-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Columbiana. United has not had much luck with Columbiana recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Columbiana had a senior duo take command as Maddox Brown scored 23 points along with nine rebounds and Ian Less scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brown has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alex Eusebio, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
United's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Columbiana, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
United will be playing at home against Southern at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southern has now lost 14 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1. Columbiana's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wellsville at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Wellsville will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
