Softball Recap: Woodgrove's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Woodgrove had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Broad Run Spartans. That's two games straight that the Wolverines have won by exactly three runs.

Virginia Dowell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Woodgrove's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Abbey Davis, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Woodgrove pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Broad Run, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.

Woodgrove will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Spartans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
