Baseball Recap: New Athens Yellow Jackets vs. Dupo Tigers
New Athens barely beat Dupo the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Yellow Jackets put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 13-1 victory on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Carson Lauer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
