It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Freeport had no problem doing just that  on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Pensacola Catholic Crusaders  a   4-0 shutout. The  victory was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won five  games in a row.
The result came thanks to  Kaylee Carroll's shutout, as she gave up just two  hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  a single  earned run in three consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Corissa Duggar, who  got on base  in all three of her plate appearances with one  triple, one  run,  and one  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kayla Stephens, who  went 1-for-3 with one  triple, one  run,  and one  RBI.
Freeport's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Pensacola Catholic,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 7-13.
 Coming up, Freeport will challenge Bozeman at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Bucks will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  matchup than the last. Pensacola Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
