Recap: Taylorsville Warriors vs. Clearfield Falcons
The Taylorsville Warriors struggled with offensive rebounds on Friday (the Clearfield Falcons had 1200% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Taylorsville fell 56-43 to Clearfield. Taylorsville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Taylorsville still got an impressive performance from Marlee Reupena, who scored 13 points along with 5 steals. Reupena is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jenna Sterzer, who scored 5 points along with 9 rebounds.
Clearfield can attribute much of their success to Xiyah Yarbrough, who scored 20 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Yarbrough is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Isabelle Wyaskett was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 steals.
Taylorsville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Clearfield, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Taylorsville will take on Stansbury at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stansbury comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Clearfield, they will be playing at home against Springville at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
