Basketball Game Preview: Illini Bluffs Tigers vs. Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes

The Illini Bluffs Tigers will be taking part in a tournament against the Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Illini Bluffs earned a 42-30 victory over Macomb. The win was all the more spectacular given the Tigers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the Bombers are ranked 76th).

Meanwhile, Abingdon/Avon came out on top against Canton on Saturday by a score of 54-43 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Illini Bluffs is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.6 points per game. As for Abingdon/Avon, their record now sits at 13-3.

Illini Bluffs beat Abingdon/Avon 44-37 in their previous matchup back in February. Does Illini Bluffs have another victory up their sleeve, or will Abingdon/Avon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
