Basketball Recap: Northern Nash Knights vs. Western Alamance Warriors
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Northern Nash can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 78-26 loss at the hands of the Western Alamance Warriors. The Knights just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.
Western Alamance's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Allie Sykes led the charge by to rack up 20 points and three steals. Sykes is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 44% in the last five games she's played. Emma Johnson was another key player, putting up 12 points and six steals.
Northern Nash's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Western Alamance, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 23-4.
Northern Nash does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Western Alamance, they will square off against Carrboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Western Alamance knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Carrboro likes a good challenge.
