Baseball Game Preview: Bonita Vista Barons vs. Coronado Islanders

The Bonita Vista Barons will square off against the Coronado Islanders at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Bonita Vista hasn't scored more than two runs for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Bonita Vista saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Augustine.

Bonita Vista saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was ADRIAN FIGUEROA, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. NOAH BURDICK also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Coronado never got on the board in their matchup on Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Montgomery on Friday. They put the hurt on the Aztecs with a sharp 12-1 win. Considering the Islanders' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Coronado's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Bonita Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Bonita Vista came up short against Coronado when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 3-0. Can Bonita Vista avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
