Franklin County Tech came tearing into Sunday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Pioneer Valley Regional Panthers. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.

Hannah Gilbert made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Samantha Duncan, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Skylei Lapan was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Franklin County Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. The last time their OBP was this high was back in June of 2024.

Franklin County Tech's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Pioneer Valley Regional, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin County Tech will face off against Mahar Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pioneer Valley Regional, they will challenge Hopkins Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
